The Big Apple Circus 42nd Season
A suspenseful and fun-filled day out!

The Big Apple Circus is Seasonal and is typically in New York City during fall.
Welcome to the Big Apple Circus, celebrating 42 years of crowd pleasing entertainment! It’s renowned for curating an A-list of entertainers in an intimate setting with a passion for modernizing the circus experience. Be prepared for a jaw dropping performance by the aerial strap duo, a suspenseful act on the Wheel of Death, amazingly talented aerial acrobats soaring above the audience, an unusual cast for the strong man routine, a daring high wire act by siblings, mixed with some very well trained domesticated animals - all pull together by the talented ringmaster and are some of the highlights that made our evening.
We each had our own favorites but agreed the Dupla Mão na Roda, the hand to hand strength act featuring Rafael Ferreira and Alan Pagnota was a standout. Rafael, the flyer, was born with congenital arthrogryposis and is wheelchair user, therefore, his powerful performance was a true pleasure to behold. It's empowering to see a person with disability included in the talent line up.
Each of us attended on previous occasions many years ago and it was our first time as a family, all thanks to the Big Apple Circus for their complimentary tickets and the newly created memories.
Important to note: Keep in mind the circus is temporarily set-up under a huge tent in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center and yes, it’s very well heated. The staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. If you’re early, I noticed there are plenty of photo opportunities with the cast who mingles with the crowd. The show starts on time and has a 20 minutes break before the second act. The concession stand serves fast food, we tried the popcorn and fries which were decent.

Show Duration: 2 hours, including a 20 minutes intermission
Accessible & Important Tips:
- Wheelchair accessible seating is available to purchase on TicketMaster. Upon being seated, the staff moves one of the temporary chair for the wheelchair spot.
- Accessible via ramps at front of Lincoln Center and note it’s a few minutes of walking to the other end of the block, closer to Amsterdam Avenue.
- We had to pick up our tickets at the box, which required few stairs however, there is a bell for wheelchair users to ring and a staff will attend to the guest.
- Because the circus is in temporary tent structure, entryway ramps are made from wood covered by carpet and is uneven but manageable.
- Wheelchair accessible portable restroom is available.
